Position Summary:
Report to and work closely with Produce Category Manager to ensure quality and proper inventory levels.
Responsible for checking quality and reporting daily inventory of produce.
Remove spoiled product that is short-dated and re-pack product to improve quality.
Communicate with the Category Manager pulls for dump or salvage as well as product that does not meet shipping requirements.
Interact with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities:
Inspect quality of produce. Remove poor quality produce from inventory and rotate inventory on a daily basis.
Work closely with the Receiving Department on perishable items.
Check dates on designated products daily. Remove any short dated and bad product from inventory.
Keep inventory counts current.
Inform Category Manager of quality issues to prevent delivery of poor-quality produce.
Determine quality of returned produce and work with the Returns Department on credit.
Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and contribute positively to profit margin.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
6-12 months Procurement, warehouse and / or administrative experience in related area
