VP of NA Sales
Summary:
The Vice President of NA Sales is responsible for leading the NA sales team to achieve top line growth, increased sales volume and market share. Individual will lead the company in expanding products and services in a global market. Lead the NA Region in developing a strategic commercial plan aligned to the overall business strategy. Support the leadership team in decision making to ensure the best use of resources in accordance with established objectives for growth and profitability. Seeks out new growth opportunities and conducts market research, competitive analysis, and other studies to assess potential benefit to the business. Recommends, coordinates and tracks progress to established milestones for development of new markets and sales growth. Will provide inspirational leadership and move team to solution selling; and directs the day-to-day activities, training and development of the NA regional commercial team and global BU channels for NA BU’s.
Description:
Develop and execute the vision and strategy for growing sales and expanding product offerings in a global market.
Manage and enhance existing market positioning while seeking opportunities in emerging or alternate markets in an effort to achieve corporate growth objectives.
Develop and establish the optimum sales channel for product promotion, value, and distribution globally for all product categories.
Recommend and implement approved price and promotion strategy as required to establish and maintain market position.
Identify and communicate customer requirements for new products as required to achieve corporate market share goals within a specific market through the tollgate process.
Maintain and ensure high-level customer contact and facilitate and promote customer satisfaction.
Develop and anticipate sales volumes to ensure profit generation, manufacturing level loading to ensure OTD to the customer.
Identify potential acquisition opportunities in an effort to enhance global market presence, organizational synergy, and corporate growth through the tollgate process.
Participate in the identification of potential new emerging technology and product enhancements to the current sales portfolio.
Champion process improvement professionals and projects executed to enhance sales growth and corporate growth initiatives.
Staff and develop a world-class regional sales team and global channel network.
Design legitimate OEM and distribution programs to identify and capture OEM and distribution opportunities.
Becomes actively involved in sales meetings and training programs for specific accounts.
Acts as a resource to sales personnel in contract negotiations and new proposals. Helps team develop marketing plans for specific customer accounts and track progress of major projects.
Attract, develop and retain talented and skilled individuals who bring key capabilities to the team and to the company
Establish close relationships at senior levels with current and potential customers; be able to gain direct access to the customers’ senior executive team
Participates fully in professional societies and activities related to Fire & Safety type industry in general and the sales profession
Works closely with Human Resource department to develop and implement sales competency model, in-field evaluations, performance management plans to ensure compensation and annual incentives plans are balanced and provide account managers visibility to targets and quarterly payouts.
Supports critical business initiatives, as needed, including but not limited to DMM, GDP and MBR in accordance with IDEX OP Model
Supports annual Net Promoter Score (NPS) process to ensure customer feedback is received and actioned as needed.
Qualifications:
BS Degree, Masters preferred in the area of business and marketing.
10+ years experience with managing and directing a global sales force.
Understands engineering and technical concepts.
Excellent knowledge in sales management techniques, customer prospecting and the sales cycle.
Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written with the ability to make necessary sales presentation, status reports and technical presentations to management and customer.
Excellent leadership and proven ability to foster teamwork and cultivate positive customer relationships.
Ability to read and summarize the financial performance documents created by the finance group and operating unit.
Knowledgeable in Value Selling, Voice of the Customer processes.
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office software.
Must work effectively with, executives, leaders and staff.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment; demonstrates a positive can-do attitude; have effective communication skills with a diverse range of individuals.
Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.
Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time.
Demonstrated problem solving, sales and negotiation skills including experience with solution-based selling.
Demonstrated experience in driving profitability and growth while optimizing commercial operations and strong fiscal management.
