About the role: You willsupport company goals for mortality and morbidity by setting andapplying medical standards for Life, Disability, and Long-Term CareProducts. You will also: Facilitate expertise to apply the standards bysupporting the education of the underwriters. Bring medicalconsultations and leadership to a broad spectrum of Company departments(Actuarial, Law, Government Relations, Communications, Innovation, NMVenture Funds, etc.) Provide medical case consultations/referrals withunderwriting and benefits areas (Life, Disability, and Long-Term Care)Direct or participate in special projects and committees as designatedby the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Train and onboardAssociate Medical Directors new to insurance medicine Perform 2nd signreviews on Jumbo Life cases Collaborate with the CV Medical Consultants(RNs) for Cardiovascular Risk Assessment. Contribute to insurancemedicine associations (e.g., planning meetings, speaking, holdingoffice, and setting professional standards). Qualifications: Completed aMD or DO degree, primary care residency training, and at least 3 yearsof clinical experience. Achieve and maintain Board certification inPrimary Care Specialties (i.e. Family Medicine, Internal Medicine,Med/Peds) preferred. Preference for insurance medicine specifically inClaims and/or Underwriting experience Maintain an active medical licensein the state of your location (if remote) If remote, achieve andmaintain medical licensing in the state of Wisconsin Demonstrateexcellent communication skills Ability to write medical standardsAbility to present at industry meetings Ability to perform trainingsessions Ability to interact professionally with the underwriters,claims analysts, field and policyowners Attainment of BoardCertification in Insurance Medicine.
