  Are you a legal operations expert who can build relationships and streamline business processes?

  The Law, Compliance, Business Ethics & External Affairs (LCBE) department of Prudential Financial, Inc. seeks a head of department operations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of LCBE, and for leading the team that supports the various department operations functions, including: handling the department's budget and expense management program, its newly formed data analytics function (in coordination with our company-wide data office), technology platforms (in coordination with our Global Technology organization), and first line operating risk, as well as leading the Law Department's outside counsel program and shared services corporate paralegal team. The role reports to the Head of LCBE Services. The ideal candidate will be innovative, understand legal and compliance functions, and be able to apply external best practices, technology, and processes improvement to increase the value of LCBE while fostering a collaborative team culture.

  The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

  What you can expect:

  Partner with Finance to coordinate the department's budget and expense management efforts including ownership of outside counsel programDevelop analytics, metrics, key performance indicators, and benchmarks and drive, track, and report on the progress of the department against plans, goals, and objectives including competitor analysisDesign ground breaking, innovative, and creative strategies for delivering efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality servicesBuild a demand management capability for the organization using external industry standardsCollaborate with the head of LCBE Services, General Counsel, department Chief of Staff and senior leadership team to establish and implement LCBE's strategy.Works with the LCBE Global Technology team to evolve the IT architecture and strategy for the delivery of global IT solutions and train department team members in the best use of IT resources and associated business processesManage the department's first line risk program in conformance with requirements and standards set by Enterprise Risk Management

  What you'll need:

  Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of total work experience in legal and/or compliance technology/operationsAdvanced knowledge of system processes, protocols and procedures; in-depth understanding of law firm billing including e-Counsel billing software, pricing and compensation practices.Experience with outside counsel alternative fee arrangement cost modeling.In-depth ability to build and lead a sophisticated function; influence and leverage others in a large, global organization to achieve objectives; and complete projects.Proven capacity to think strategically to identify critical issues and develop long-term solutions; an ability to envision a desired future state.

  Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $201,900.00 to $273,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
