Job Description:
The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Health Information Coordinator. This position plays an integral role in the training, management, and support of multiple information systems at our UF Veterinary Hospitals.
Examples of this include but are not limited to:
• Manage and implement updates and workflow improvements on health information systems
• Update and manage the medical information training program
• Provide on-going training to staff, faculty, and students at various levels to ensure users are optimizing system functionality with a focus on patient care
• Provide daily support and act as a resource to the hospital staff, faculty, and students in resolving user issue related to system use and/or functionality.
• Assist with research and implementation of new health information systems
Expected Salary:
Commensurate with Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma and two years of experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic, and one year of experience working with electronic medical recordkeeping systems. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in an academic veterinary clinical setting
• Experience writing and implementing protocols and procedures
• Knowledge of and experience with computer software programs including Idexx, Cornerstone, Instinct, Lab Information Systems, Radiology Information Systems, Pharmacy Software, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience maintaining accurate records and handling data efficiently
• Experience training others and giving presentations
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees, professional staff, and students
