　　Job Location: NEW YORK CITY - NEW YORK CITY, NY

　　Position Type: Full Time

　　Salary Range: $55.29 - $60.10 Hourly

　　Vertical Transportation Inspector

　　Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in New York to join the Facilities Construction Management Department as our Vertical Transportation Inspector. This position will be working closely with the Assistant Resident Engineer and Construction Manager for technical follow-up and close-out of inspection.

　　Responsibilities

　　Test items, technical challenges, and follow-up with ARE's punch list items. Inspect Vertical transportation (elevator and escalator) installation and repair for compliance with application construction codes and technical standards. Provide innovative, technical excellence, and on-time performance. Conduct acceptance level inspections of traction and hydraulic elevators, escalators, moving walks. Prepare detailed inspection reports for all vertical transportation units.

　　Requirements :

　　Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff both in person and via two-way communications. Minimum of 10 years of experience in diversified field vertical transportation inspections (elevatorescalatormoving walksdumb waiter, vertical platform lifts, etc.). Self-starter, organized, coordinating/scheduling own inspections, capable of simultaneously working on multiple projects (terminals, buildings, bridges, ports, etc.). Working knowledge of ASME A17.1, ASME A17.2, ASME A17.3, ASME A18.1, New York City Building Code, IBC and New Jersey Codes including referenced standards. QEI Certification is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to pass a SWAC Background Check at High Level. Valid Driver's license required. And use of personal vehicle may be required.
