  Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities NON-APPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: RECREATION ASSISTANT BUSINESS TITLE: VEHICLE OPERATOR INSTRUCTOR (FLEX) JOB CODE: 960065 JOB SERIES: 0189 PAY LEVEL: NF-02 FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Performs duties both theoretical and practical relative to the issuance of a private motor vehicle operator's license. Independently instructs and certifies students in driver's education aboard MCIPAC MCCS Okinawa. Conducts road practical driving operations instructions in drivers' educational vehicles. Trains and evaluates the operation of passenger cars. Explains the procedures' phases to individuals and observes student operation of the car during road tests to include fundamentals of driving and driving safety. Inspects vehicle to ensure the vehicle condition is safe and all equipment is functioning correctly. Incumbent evaluates the driver's performance and checks all errors on the guide sheet. Incumbent may immediately terminate if, in the examiner's opinion, the vehicle's operation by the applicant creates a definite traffic hazard. Provides World-Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Operates vehicles in all types of traffic conditions on public and non-public roadways. Operates vehicles during inclement weather. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be 20 years of age in order to be considered. 2. Must have three-year driving experience. 3. Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedules to include nighttime, weekends and holidays. 4. Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator¿s permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing will result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must possess knowledge of training techniques, such as providing examples, demonstrations, and hands-on behind-the-wheel instruction related to driver¿s education or be able to learn these skills. 2. Knowledge and skills in operating vehicles with secondary braking system and controls. Day and night driving may be required. 3. Ability to read street maps and reach unfamiliar locations as well as knowledge and skills in selecting safe, legal routes. Must be familiar with the Japanese traffic laws. 4. Knowledge to make judgments concerning various vehicles¿ dynamic characteristics: overhead and side clearance, turning radius, braking distance, and the distance to be maintained from other vehicles. NOTE: Appointment and continued employment is subject to a favorable Tier 1 investigation (CNACI), required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
