Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Sometimes earlier or later hours arerequested)
The Transportation Driver is responsible for the safe and timelytransportation of Senior Community Care (SCC) participants. Responsiblefor communicating any safety issue to the Transportation Manager.
Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individualmust be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirementslisted below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilityrequired. High school diploma or equivalent required; Valid Driver's License instate of hire. CDL license within six (6) months of hire required iflocation utilizes vehicles requiring a CDL license.
Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and have means oftransportationMust have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-dateimmunizations before having direct participant contact.Must pass background check and drug screening.
Able to handle information in a confidential manner at all times.
Able to deal professionally and diplomatically with people
Preferred Skills:
Must have good interpersonal skills
Have a minimum of one year experience in working with the frail and elderlypopulation.Able to read and understand maps and routing informationKnowledge of safety requirements pertaining to the transportation industry.Requires individual who can coordinate multiple tasks simultaneouslySkilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships withparticipants, caregivers, and co-workers.
Essentials:
Responsible for Senior Community Care passengers during transport, providingcare in a manner which ensures participant satisfaction.Follows assigned schedule, makes adjustments to meet unanticipatedchanges, while considering the needs of the participant and requirements ofthe PACE Center. Communicates these changes to dispatch.
Operates equipment safely and in compliance with vehicle licensingregulations.Maintains and completes daily required records i.e., Pre- and Post-TripInspections, gasoline purchases.Immediately reports to Transportation Manager, any vehicle or cell phoneoperating problems, malfunction, or incidents out of the ordinary routine.Transports participants to and from medical/specialist appointments, andactivity outings, as requested by the Interdisciplinary Team via the plan ofcaTransports meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any otheritems as deemed necessary for participant.
