About US Senior R&D Field Medical Director, Immunology (Non-Alliance)

This position will report into the US Medical Immunology team which is a segment of the Medical Affairs Specialty Care organization.

Our Medical Affairs function serves as a valued strategic partner with Clinical, Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access on therapeutic solutions to support patients’ needs. The US Medical Immunology team is proud to support Sanofi’s deep commitment to chasing the miracles of science to improve the lives of patients.

Job Description:

Provide inspirational leadership across the US Medical Affairs Immunology team (RD Field Medical Directors, Medical Directors, MSLs) by cultivating a culture of teamwork and collaboration to ensure the delivery of key priorities, while attracting, developing and retaining top talent.

Oversee, recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of RD Field Medical Directors supporting Immunology pipeline assets (phase I-IV) across Dermatology, Rheumatology, Respiratory, and Gastroenterology

Develop robust and integrated cross-Immunology pipeline US clinical trial strategic and tactical plans (RD Field Medical Directors, MSLs) as part of broader US Medical planning and in line with US clinical trials recruitment goals

Lead the development and execution of innovative Medical and cross-functional partnered external engagement activities in clinical trial education, enhancing the inclusion of diverse clinical trial populations, advice-seeking activities, and overall Sanofi Immunology pipeline clinical trial awareness

Ensure Medical is a proactive partner with Development through cultivation of relationships across Global Medical, CSU, RD, EDO, GPT, CSO leadership to ensure all Medical activities are aligned with Sanofi US clinical trial goals

Lead development and implementation of MSL KPIs in partnership with senior field MSL leaders and Development leaders to demonstrate Medical impact on US clinical trial awareness and recruitment goals

Provide impactful cross-portfolio medical-led clinical trial strategy and expertise to leaders in Medical, Clinical, Commercial, Market Access and Regulatory in both Global and US business

Provide scientific presentations at internal meetings, external advisory boards, key scientific meetings as needed

Develop and maintain close professional relationships with Key Thought Leaders (healthcare practitioners and researchers) within the Immunology clinical trial community.

About you:

Education : Advanced degree in a scientific discipline: MD, PhD, PharmD

Work Experience : Significant experience in Medical Affairs Launch and Life Cycle Management activities. Strong track record in developing and executing medical and clinical trial-related strategies in the US. Experience in clinical trial development required. Strong people management and development experience required.

Skills / knowledge:

An entrepreneurial spirit with an executive presence

Deep knowledge of clinical development and medical strategic planning

Scientific acumen. In-depth understanding of the scientific method and ability to apply this information for business needs based on medical and scientific rationale.

Experience in clinical trial design, including biostatistics, observational research and patient-reported outcomes across all trial phases

Relationships and Influence. Effective internal and external stakeholder management, politically astute with strong cross-functional teamwork and collaboration.

Strategic thinking. Ability to disrupt status quo with innovation while remaining pragmatic and focused on priorities. Ability to translate innovative strategies or solutions into actionable plans

Result orientation. Driven to develop and execute optimal strategy meeting corporate objectives, while creating pragmatic solutions. Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to adapt with agility, take calculated risks and anticipate potential issues.
