Responsible for credible and effectiverelations andcommunication with field and customer to include responding to caseappeals/inquiries and assists with placing business. Provides guidanceand assistance to the Northwestern MutualFinancial Network and FinancialRepresentatives regardingcase underwriting and risk appraisal.Responsible for prescreen inquiries. Underwriting Responsible for theanalysis and appraisal of a broad range of insuranceapplications;approves, classifies, or declines applications for various agesandpolicy amounts with occasional guidance, as needed. Uses advanced UWknowledge and expertise to provide the appropriate level ofunderwritingskill and mentoring to UWs. Uses advanced skills to review applicationsand adheres to underwritingstandards. Solves complex problems andescalations. Advanced level of experience with NM product types andchanges. Models change agility while maintaining mortality and morbidityexpectations. Demonstrates continuous learning through the earlyadoption of new ways of underwriting. Proficient with Reinsuranceprograms and able to determine where to best place a case. Underwritesapplications, maintaining industry-leading mortality and morbiditygivingthe best possible offer that can be made. Provides active caseandrequirement management and provides customized service with guidance.Demonstrates advanced ability to communicate & negotiate withFieldPartners to explain modified or declined decisions& assist inpolicy placement. Provides advanced financial, medical, and layunderwriting assessments and offers innovative solutions to keepNorthwestern Mutual as the choice of our customers.
