Tufting Process Technician 1st Shift- Plant T1
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking to hire a Process Technician in the Tufting and Warping department which goal is to provide technical expertise, troubleshooting / support in the areas of machine setup and style specification along with tracking and analyzing data for the purpose of quality and process improvements.
Required skills:
Develop process specifications for new products
Assist Technical Development with trials and new product development
Assist in performing PM and machine maintenance as necessary
Create and design reports from raw data
Understand and help reduce waste streams and provide necessary feedback to vendors
Manage short-term projects and teams as needed
Help troubleshoot defects as they appear (Backwinding, Warping, Tufting)
Communicate quality defects and trends to associates on shift
Investigate and communicate details about quality defects to Management
Train associates on process changes/procedures and train associates on defect identification
Work on Quality Improvement Projects
Proficient in Tuftco and CMC software programs (ie: Command Performance)
Basic knowledge of how to create and read creel diagrams
Help maintain department ATD (including personal workspace)
Be a team player with all associates in the department (including other shifts).
Flexible schedule allowing participation on off shifts to help department needs.
Provide respectful feedback to team members as necessary.
Comply with all required OSHA, EPA/EPD, SAFE, and plant specific safety and environmental rules and regulations
Verbally communicate in English with team members about team needs and daily/weekly goals; participate in team meetings, provide feedback and contribute to team’s goals.
Physical Requirements:
Walking up and down stairs is part of the requirements for this position.
This position will require standing, heavy and/or repeated lifting, bending, stooping, reaching overhead or crawling for long periods of time.
Passing a Shaw administered color test.
Withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
Expected to be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Monitor and track process control trends / control charts
Bilingual speaker (Spanish and English)
Systems knowledge:
Basic math and computer skills
