Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experiencedTravel Coordinator to join their team. Under the supervision of the Travel Manager, the Travel Coordinator will plan and price a variety of complex domestic and international itineraries in accordance with company and applicable government policies via the computer reservations system, Concur Travel, telephone, fax, and e-mail. The Travel Coordinator will arrange trip itineraries including, making air, hotel, rail, and ground transportation reservations, price and fare itineraries, issue exchanges and refunds, void tickets as required, and arrange for special needs pertaining to seats and meals. The Travel Coordinator will update customer profile database and provide information relative to passport, visa, and health requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Answer phones and emails fulfilling reservations requests.
Quality control and price reservations.
Answer questions and troubleshoot travel related incidents.
Assist travelers and travel arrangers with Concur reservations.
Research questions and problems found during the voucher audit process.
Update traveler profiles, advising foreign travel requirements.
Interface with airline staff regarding seat assignment, refunding a ticket, disruption of service, etc.
Interface with Housing Bureaus for conference accommodations, hotels directly, and car vendor support personnel.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent with at least 5+ years of experience (Post High School education will count toward experience, Associate’s degree preferred).
Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally within a cross-functional environment required.
Knowledge of Airline GDS system (Worldspan, preferably Sabre) is a must.
Knowledge of Concur Travel and Request.
Experience working in a high-volume commercial travel agency or airline reservations office.
Extensive knowledge of the travel industry and extensive Central Reservation Systems (CRS) knowledge is required.
Knowledge of CRS data entry requirements necessary for interface between the CRS system.
Must have working knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows) and communication platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
Basic web experience is required.
Must have excellent telephone and customer service skills.
Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a team environment and handle all issues with tact and diplomacy.
Knowledge of airline accounting procedures is desirable.
Sabre experience preferred.
Experience with accounting system (TRAMS) is desired but not required.
Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
