About Transportation Roadway Project Engineer / Task Leader

  DEA's Puget Sound Region is hiring a Transportation Roadway Project Engineer / Task Leader to support our Roads and Highways group while working on transportation related projects. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter assigned to work on multi-discipline projects as a project engineer (or task leader) and perform engineering calculations and design using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications. The work may include street improvements, utility plans, freeway, highway and roadway design, construction documents and all supporting documentation. This position can be located in Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia or Tacoma, WA.Other duties include:Coordinate projects with supervisor, project managers, and firm staff.Ensure excellence in project execution for on-time, on-budget deliverables of quality that meet or exceed the industry's standard of careParticipate in business development activitiesProvide sketches and/or detailed layout information to design staff for incorporation into the construction drawings.Designs, prepares, or oversees the preparation of preliminary and final plans in Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microstation/InRoads software.Prepares and/or directs the design of roadway, traffic, or stormwater plansPreparation and modification of reports, specifications and cost estimates for project.Develop, track and modify project schedules.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer License in the United StatesMicrostation/InRoads and/or Civil 3D design experienceMinimum 7 years of civil engineering design related to transportation projectsProject experience with local agencies or state DOTsPreferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer in the State of WashingtonExperience, training and/or interest in project managementLocal experience in the Puget Sound RegionStorm water collection and water quality treatment design experienceTraffic analysis and design experienceBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday PayHealth Savings and Lifestyle Spending Account with employer contribution401k and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work scheduleHolistic Wellbeing Program with a focus on physical, emotional, financial, career and community healthOpportunity for growth with support and mentoring to help with professional goalsAbility to work in a hybrid in-office/remote work settingPotential salary range is $110,000-$150,000 depending on location and experienceHybrid friendly work scheduleTransportation Jobs with DEAThe increasing complexities of modern transportation include growing demands, aging infrastructure, rising costs, funding challenges, and environmental concerns.
