HNTB is looking for a candidate passionate about applying cutting edge technologies to solve mobility challenges such as connected and automated vehicles, smart mobility, electric vehicles, advanced air mobility, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will be a creative and forward-thinking problem solver, looking to expand the capabilities of the design team. This position is located in our Columbus office.

What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Supports the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Supports engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in EngineeringPreferred Qualifications
Primary Focus Will Include:
Research upcoming technology advancements related to emerging mobility including ITS, connected and automated vehicles, shared mobility, electric vehicles.
Assist project manager or senior engineer with task production including systems engineering related reports and plans based on project analyses and assessment.
Collection of field data, analyze data, and prepare studies to support decisions on transportation systems, policies, and standards.
Supports the preparation of electric vehicle deployment strategies including communication and power design, reports, and plans for transportation projects.
Deliver project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
Coordination with clients and builds effective client relationships.
What We Prefer:
Must be curious and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and desire to attain Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Strong technical writing skills
Strong leadership skills and ability to build relationships
Emerging technology; CV, AV and EV solutions
Experience with programming languages (e.g., VBA, Python, etc.)
Knowledge and experience using CADD Software, such as MicroStation or AutoCAD
Knowledge and experience using GIS Software, such as ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap or QGIS
Knowledge and experience with data analytics and visualization tools/dashboards, such as Power BI or Tableau
Master's degree in Engineering

The approximate pay range for Ohio is $63,206.95 - $94,810.42. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
