Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consultingfirm, is seeking a civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovativetransportation team in our Transportation Planning department. TransportationPlanning is an exciting field which offers a unique opportunity to develop,test, and refine innovative solutions to transportation and mobilityproblems from a project's inception, through to advanced design stages.Projects may include planning, analysis and designs for multipletransportation facilities including roadways, bridges, sidewalks,trails, traffic control devices, airports, and transit facilities.Responsibilities may include:perform multimodal traffic analysis by developing and calibratingdeterministic and simulation-based traffic models such as Synchro, HCS,SIDRA, and Vissimperform travel demand modeling, including application of State DOT/ MPOregional travel models using software such as CUBE, VISUM, TRANSMODELER,TRANSCAD for developing project-level traffic forecasts and conductingalternatives analysesperform feasibility and alternatives analysis for intersection and roadwaydesigns including developing conceptual and preliminary geometric designs andtypical sectionsconduct studies and designs for bicycle lanes and trail networksconduct studies and design for including bus and rail transit improvements,transit priority and access to transit/ bus stop improvementsconduct traffic studies such as traffic impact studies, traffic signalwarrants, parking studies, traffic safety studies and traffic calmingperform field inventories and measurements of roadway/ traffic conditionsprepare technical reports and presentationsassist in representing company at technical meetings and public meetingsA valid driver's license and some travel will be required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) incivil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university AND atleast four years of relevant work experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:performing traffic and transportation data reduction and analysistraffic analysis software (HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Transmodeler)passed FE exam, PE preferredMicroStationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment withoutregard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genderidentity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.Pay Range: $76,000-$95,000 depending on experience.
