DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In your role as a Transportation Construction Inspector, you will play a vital role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation services. By providing exceptional customer service to those seeking Highway Occupancy Permits, you will ensure that their needs are met while adhering to departmental policies and objectives. Your responsibilities also include reviewing and assessing permit work to ensure it meets the required standards. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to quality improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing new initiatives to streamline operations and foster a sense of pride and ownership among team members.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.*Telework: *You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; orThree years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; orOne year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); orTwo years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); orOne year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.*Necessary Special Requirements: *
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.Other Requirements:
