DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will be responsible for conducting independent technical inspections on transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards. You will also provide documentation services for construction projects and assist with estimating and worker services. Your role will involve checking grades, elevations, and stake-outs, as well as inspecting the placement of various construction materials. You will record and document all work performed by contractors and utilize technology such as IPads and computer software for project documentation. Additionally, you will track material quantities and perform testing using manual or computerized methods.

Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); orTwo years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); orThree years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; orThree years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; orOne year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.
