The Transcriptionist transcribes physicians' daily chart notes,correspondence, histories and physicals, operative reports, projects andarticles for publication.
This position will have options for remote work within Colorado.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTypes and edits physician chart notes, operative reports, historiesand physicals, and other correspondence proficiently and accurately on adaily basis.Proofreads and corrects all transcriptions prior to submissionDemonstrates a thorough knowledge of medical terminologyPrints documents and accurately files them into charts. Investigates andresolves any missing information.Routes appropriate narratives to case management team for billingFaxes dictation per routing on chartsOther duties as assignedRequirements:High School diploma or equivalent.One year of medical transcription experience preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology for all clinic services isrequired.Must be an accurate and proficient typist with basic language and sentencestructure skills. Must be able to type 80 wpm from voice recognition dictationequipment utilizing earphones and foot controls.Experience in Microsoft Word and voice recognition software preferred.Core competencies in quality, quantity, detail oriented,communication, and confidentiality.
Physical RequirementsThe work environment is the typical office The employee must be able tocomplete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there aresignificant distractions, including staff, patients, and vendors walkingthrough and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over,loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequentlyrequired to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects,tools, or controls up to 8 hours per day. The employee frequently isrequired to talk or hear. The employee will frequently use Dictaphoneequipment with audio capability for up to 8 hours a day. The employee isoccasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, andstoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds andshould do so in a sound and safe manner. Specific vision abilities required bythis job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depthperception, and the ability to adjust focus.
