The Spirit of the Position:The Traffic Control Officer supports the Denver International Airport bydirecting traffic at the main terminal to help reduce traffic congestion anddirect pedestrians to certain areas.Principal Job Duties:Greets and assists the traveling public with a professional and cordialdemeanor.Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the main terminal of the DenverInternational Airport to ensure the curbside is free of unattended vehicles.Acts as liaison between the airport, traveling public, tenants,vendors, and ground transportation companies to ensure compliance with localrules and regulations.Assists the public with general inquiries, most importantly parking andground transportation options.Work independently and with team members, reporting to a field supervisor.Resolve customer complaints in accordance with policies and procedures.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solvingmanner.Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functionsof the job.Ensures the terminal, curbside, and parking areas are aestheticallypresentable through monitoring of parking lots, set up and/or remove signsas necessary, sweeping, and removal of trash and debris.SkillsAbility to mitigate and lead others to overcome challenges (Never Ever GiveUp Attitude).Ability to work independently and multi-task.Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.Willing to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidaysEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees,tenants, other governmental agencies and departments, community, airportusers, and the traveling public.Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.Must be open to feedback, differing opinions, and other points of view.Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous of passengers while directingtraffic and performing other duties.Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.Must be able to make decisions independently and stay firm on decisions made(not easily persuaded).
