  The Chemours™ Discovery Hub, a newly constructed 320,000 sq.ft. world-class R&D/Application Development research facility located in Newark, DE , has a Thermal Systems Engineer position available in the Technology function.

  In Thermal & Specialty Solutions , we harness next-generation, low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) technology to provide market driven innovations to customers in the areas of Refrigerants, Propellants, Fire Protection, Foam Blowing Agents used in various systems for building and construction segments, and Mobile and Stationary heating and cooling systems to name a few. Our technical organization consists of experts in the areas of fluorine, catalysis, process development, analytical and formulation science, and application development to name a few.

  This role offers a chance to contribute to impactful projects while enjoying a vibrant employment culture. Initially based in Mexico, the role can be done remotely and will require business travel for 25% of time. The first year is designed to dive deep into the role, fostering a strong foundation and ensuring the perfect fit. Following this immersive period, an exciting opportunity arises for relocation to the U.S. After a year, the successful candidate will be relocating to our Chemours Discovery Hub (CDH) location in Newark, Delaware in the US, opening doors to further career growth. For the localization in the US, Chemours will support your VISA application and will provide a one-time payment of $ 10,000 to assist with relocation costs (payback scheme will be applicable). Of course, the VISA application is subject to approval from the US authorities. After localization in the United States, the candidate will function as a US based employee. This move is not eligible for expat relocation and other expat benefits.

  The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  Support projects related to automotive thermal management to meet strategic growth objectives while working closely and maintaining good relationships with partners (laboratories, startups, universities), tier 1 suppliers and Manufacturers.

  Designing and leading execution of experiments in lab environment.

  Analyze data independently, draw statistically based conclusions and determine next steps.

  Engage key external customers to develop and understand the tradeoffs on equipment design when adopting new solutions.

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization, customers and partners.

  Knowledge or the desire to learn fluorochemical science and related application technologies.

  Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.

  The following is required for this role:

  Mechanical, chemical or other relevant engineering degree with 2+ years of work experience OR relatable intern/co-op experience.

  Relevant experience working on refrigeration or air conditioning equipment at component (e.g. compressors, heat exchangers, etc.) or system level (e.g. commercial, residential or automotive system).

  Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to work well with all levels in the organization.

  Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely.
