Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a part time Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Advancing Research & Evaluation for Patient-Centered Care (CARE-PC) at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.Under the guidance of the Director of Administration and Research Project Manager, assists in the conduct of specialized behavioral and social science research and evaluation for specialized projects.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Under supervision, performs various behavioral and social science research and evaluation operations relative to ongoing investigatory activities of the Center including but not limited to conducting literature reviews; and collecting, managing, and analyzing data.
  • Prepares data for timely completion of all requirements of grant reporting including correspondence, progress reports, program evaluations, and other related reports.
  • Assists principal investigator(s) and research administrator with the preparation of articles and presentations.
  • Develops spreadsheets and databases to support project activities.
  • Maintains essential records and assists in the maintenance of all activity files.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings and conference calls; including preparing and sending out agendas, taking minutes, and coordinating conference rooms reservations or conference call login information.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in public health, social or behavioral science plus one (1) year of related research experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have knowledge of research methods and basic data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) necessary, with working knowledge of software packages including: EndNote; SPSS; Qualtrics, and REDCap.
  • Bilingual written and verbal proficiency (Spanish and English).

  • Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Office environment and/or remote work from home. Moderate noise.
