Job Description

Telephone Operator-Telephone Operators-Mount Sinai Beth Israel (555 West 57th Street)-Full Time, 3pm to 11pm, EOW

Under general supervision, receives and relays incoming and outgoing telephone calls for the Mount Sinai Medical Center, which includes paging physicians and other Medical Center employees. Handles emergencies such as Team 7000 (Cardiac Arrest) crisis team, and emergency preparedness notification. Provides directory information to inquiries and transfers calls as appropriate.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $23.00 - $25.31 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Responsibilities

Operate switchboard and route incoming calls to appropriate departments.

Initiates all emergency calls including Team 7000, Fire Alert and Message One Notifications.

Provides specific directory information to internal and external inquiries as required in accordance with policy and procedures pertaining to the disclosure of directory information.

Operation of the page position. Including completion of Evening/Weekend On-Call Physician Sign-In form.

Performs other related duties.
