The Telecommunications Operator/Dispatcher handles all phases of communication in a pleasant and professional manner. Systems 7 computer functions and all other alarm systems are monitored and, upon request, operated by the Operator/Dispatcher. Locating persons inside and outside of the facility is an important function of the operator.

　　QUALIFICATIONS

　　The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

　　Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.

　　Experience: One or more years experience in P.B.X. operations and general office practices is preferred, but is not required. Familiarity with telephone communication techniques and with basic computer software is required. Entering, accessing and/or retrieving data will be a significant part of the job.

　　Skills: Ability to answer and extend all telephone calls expeditiously. The operator needs basic writing skills to properly complete logs/reports, and basic knowledge of computers. The operator will need to be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiently. The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment is essential. The preferable skills would be to type 40 WPM or more, have strong communication skills, use clear diction, proper grammar, basic computer skills, good telephone etiquette, and excellent customer service skills.
