POSITIONSUMMARY The dental assistant\'s primary responsibility is to assist thedentist with clinical procedures. This includes chair side assisting,x-rays, taking alginate impressions, and screening emergency patients.The assistant will be expected to assist in four-handed dentalprocedures including, but not limited to: initial exams, periodontalmaintenance, amalgam and composite restorations, endodontics, oralsurgery, crown and bridge, and removable prosthodontics. By the end ofthe assistant\'s training period he or she will be expected to beproficient in all procedures routinely performed in the clinic. PRIMARYTASKS AND DUTIES Room Preparation and Turnover Prepare room set up forstandard and specialty procedures Prepare hand pieces for laboratory andoperatory use Prepare for medical emergencies Disinfect operatoryaccording to company standards Assist in sterilization areas asnecessary Maintain operatory equipment according to manufacturerguidelines Dispose of waste and hazardous materials in compliance withOSHA/EPA/FDA/NIOSH regulations Direct Patient Care Welcome and dismisspatient in a professional and courteous manner Take digital x-rays (Pan,BWX\'s, PAs) Obtain, interpret, and evaluate personal, medical anddental histories Take and record patient vitals Demonstrate four-handedinstrument transfer Prepare and assist with administration of topicaland local anesthesia Prepare mounting and articulation of study modelsfor impressions Fabricate temporaries for crowns and bridges Pour andtrim cast/model Prepare and assist with restorative treatment Prepareand assist with varnish and fluoride applications Prepare and assistwith minor, oral surgery and endodontic therapy procedures Prepare andassist with alginate impression Chart oral condition as dictated bydentist Post-op Patient Education Explain postoperative and preoperativeinstructions to the patient Schedule follow up appointment ElectronicHealth Record (EHR) Utilization Properly label and input tooth/teethnumbers into patient electronic chart Review doctors schedule prior topatient visit for scheduling errors and lab case preparation POSTIONREQUIREMENTS Education Preferred Graduate from an Accredited DentalAssistant Program/School Minimum of 1 year experience in dentalassisting position Ability to communicate in Spanish (oral andwritten)preferred Must be current on all ACIP immunizations & PPD statusMust maintain BLS Certification WORK SCHEDULE Open availability to...For full info follow application link.
