Summary

　　Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages, sterilizes, stores, and distributes supplies, instruments, and equipment dispensed by the department following infection control guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

　　Responsibilities

　　Manages decontamination, sterilization, distribution and storage of supplies, instruments and equipment.

　　Participates in Performance Improvement.

　　Demonstrates Fiscal management.

　　Maintains proper environment of care.

　　Develop and disseminate ongoing education.

　　Serve as preceptor.

　　Completes all assigned goals.

　　Requirements, Preferences and Experience

　　Education

　　Minimum: Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam for central service technicians and maintains a certified registered central service technical credential administered by the International Association of healthcare Central Service Material Management or the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution;

　　Special Skills

　　Minimum: Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Computer literacy.

　　Training

　　Preferred: Certified central service technician

　　Minimum: 10 Hours of continuing education annually
