Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Laurel, Maryland . This position is part of a team that provides full life cycle support to a suite of enterprise applications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. Writing and editing technical documentation for all of the project’s hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation. Creation of code documentation for software; production implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provides field, data definition, and data flow documentation and formatting technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience or 10 years of total experience
Understands basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents
Assists in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
May maintain a current internal documentation library
Uses multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc
Understands basic concepts, responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity
Responsible for preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
Responsible for preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences
Works with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials
Coordinates layout and design of documents
Works on all phases of documentation
Under general direction, responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity
Researches highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and expresses technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Basic understanding of system architecture, cloud architecture, Bamboo, and BitBucket
Experience in SOP and/or COOP creation
Security Clearance Requirements:
Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based upon a SSBIPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
