Actalent Engineering has a Fortune 500 Telecommunication client in Morrisville, NC, hiring a Technical Writer, with a focus on Cybersecurity Incident Management, to join their team. In this role, you will be expected to communicate effectively with executives, engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to build and maintain official incident documentation, and process & procedural collateral. Key Responsibilities:
Act as a scribe during cybersecurity incidents, ensuring accurate, real-time recording of actions, decisions, and key points
Prepare detailed incident summaries, accurately documenting the incident, response actions, and outcomes
Provide support to Incident Managers and other team members, assisting with communication and coordination during and after incidents
Develop and maintain standardized templates for incident reporting to ensure consistency and efficiency across the organization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather additional information as necessary for incident documentation
Maintain confidentiality and follow security protocols when handling sensitive information during cybersecurity incidents
Edit, clarify, and proofread documentation, and mentor others to improve their writing skills
Analyze complex security concepts and capabilities into clear and easy to understand documents with a well-defined and intentional information architecture
Work with the team and partners to define and evolve the documentation strategy, set expectations and provide regular progress updates
Qualifications:
Proven working experience with internal technical writing of processes, tools, software and/or hardware documentation (5+ years' experience preferred)
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information from SMEs clearly and concisely
Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency in relevant documentation tools and software
Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
Experience working with IT, compliance, cybersecurity or other regulated industries preferred
Familiarity with cybersecurity terminology, threats, and incident response protocols
Tools knowledge requirements include Confluence, Microsoft Suite – Office 365, Jira, SharePoint
