About Technical Vendor Management Consultant

  Kforce is partnered with a client looking for an experienced Technical Vendor Management Consultant to lead development of a data and technology strategic framework to prioritize funding and maintenance for technology applications and assets across the department.Expected Responsibilities:

  Assess and analyze the current state of the organizations technology asset inventory, to include impact/uses, maintenance schedule, technical debt, operation costs, and other requirements of software and data sources across the department

  Learn and understand the technology policies, including currency and redundancies

  Facilitate stakeholder meetings as appropriate to gather the above information

  Provide gaps assessment of current and planned future state technology and policy

  Provide recommendations for department's technology strategies including: guiding principles for technology investments; Examples include: when to leverage existing tools prior to purchasing new; Build versus buy threshold for business lines across the department

  Decision-making framework for prioritizing implementation and maintenance of technology assets and applications

  A rubric and/or process for applying the above framework to upcoming technology projects

  Develop a department-wide funding model for budget allocation to technology assets

  Monitoring and evaluating technology assets on an ongoing basis

  Data-oriented staffing (including systems administration and analytics)

  Gather consensus around the above recommendations by identified stakeholders, adjusting as appropriate with their input

  Develop 10-year technology vision and initiatives roadmap, agreed upon by identified stakeholders

  3 years of current, professional experience researching, analyzing, and describing business and technology processes which should include at 18 months of consulting with business or governments leaders and executives, including:

  Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical subject matters

  Strong analytical skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

  Facilitation skills, with the ability to gather feedback from various levels of stakeholders and incorporate feedback into deliverables

  Experience developing guiding principles, strategic frameworks, and roadmaps, specifically around data and technology

  Experience facilitating discovery sessions with technical audiences and explaining technical restraints in an accessible way to leaders and executives

  Experience working in large, matrixed organizations, and a thorough understanding of application lifecycle management

  Prior experience in the public sector and/or transportation and infrastructure space is helpful, it is not required

  The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

  We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

  Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
