　　   PARAEDUCATOR – WORK STUDY APPROVED SUMMARY: Assist instructional personnel in general daily classroom activities. Supervise students at recess, lunch and outside play. Responsible to represent the school building and district in a most positive way to students, staff, parents, and the school community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

　　Supervises students before and after school, during lunch period and during recess.

　　Assists in small group pupil instruction and provides limited instructional assistance to individual students at teachers’ request.

　　Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions.

　　Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units.

　　Assists teacher with attendance and related clerical functions.

　　Assists in assembling/hanging materials on bulletin boards and keeping displays current.

　　Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.

　　Assist with loading and unloading of students on the buses.

　　May escort children to and from various rooms.

　　Other duties as assigned.

　　SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May supervise students when the teacher and/or librarian are not present. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be work study eligible and provide the documentation from the college Human Resources Office in application. SALARY AND WORK SCHEDULE Pay rate is $14/ hour up to $1,500 for spring term in most cases (ave. of 8-10 hours a week). Possibly expand the maximum hours, if needed. Work hours are between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday during normal school work days.
