　　This position works under general direction and is primarily responsible for technical support for Ruminant Account Managers. This individual will be a key technical contact in the North American region to promote and help drive the sales of Chr. Hansen dairy probiotic and silage inoculant products and services in the region. This individual will be a self-driven worker with excellent communication skills and a strong research and technical background. A minimum of 3 years of in-field technical work experience is required.

　　Principal Duties And Responsibilities

　　Provides technical support and training to Account Managers for ruminants and is actively involved in the sales process.

　　Provide oversight of North American dairy and silage trials and provide detailed analysis of trial results to support Chr. Hansen products and services.

　　Maintains in-depth high-level contacts with key customers and influencers, particularly veterinarians and nutritionists.

　　Investigate customer complaints and solve routine industry problems on-site. This includes, but is not limited to, new product applications, marketing efforts, new facilities, and key industry personnel.

　　Participates in professional trade associations and committees related to the dairy industry association activities.

　　Developing, writing, editing, and proofreading scientific documentation for marketing materials to support product promotion

　　Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape for gastrointestinal health and silage inoculant products and services

　　Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

　　Possess good negotiation and follow-up skills.

　　Ability to utilize product knowledge to determine the best course of action for customers.

　　Must have technical skills to know the right questions to ask customers.

　　Must be a self-starter with drive and initiative and work with little supervision.

　　Must have a passion for the food industry.

　　Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

　　Possess a valid driver's license and good personal credit.

　　Ability to travel up to 60% of working time. International travel to Mexico, Canada, and other countries as needed, so a passport is required.

　　These characteristics are normally acquired through a Ph.D. or DVM in Dairy Science or Dairy Nutrition with a minimum of five to seven years of experience in the industry working with key accounts preferred.

　　Working Conditions: Working environment is a home office setting about 40% of time and car and/or air travel about 60% of time (this could vary depending on territory). This position requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record. The employee must be able to meet the travel requirements of the job.

　　Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
