This Technical Sales Engineer serves customers by identifying their needs, is skilled in uncovering & qualifying new opportunities, and understands engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Work with Sales Team to drive sales of targeted products and services within the assigned region.
Act as the factory representative in support of existing installations and product returns.
Perform evaluations of customer fluid systems to identify areas of improvement, drive plant efficiencies, and offer possible solutions via formal reports.
Select and recommend products for specific customer applications.
Provide distributor training and technical support on products and applications.
Develop plans and implement activities to support the distributor operating and marketing business plans in addition to active sales plans.
Collaborate with other Engineers on technical applications and solutions.
Identify the changing application needs for new products and existing products while providing feedback to the appropriate factory personnel on improvements to products or services.
Provide assistance on specific Sales and Marketing initiatives.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Identifies current and future custom solutions requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering assistance by answering questions and requests.
Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff, costing engineering changes.
Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customer on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customer on needed actions.
Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Display a consistent high level of professionalism at all times.
Maintain a commitment to continuous learning.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: BS in Engineering with ABET
Some previous experience in sales engineering preferred
Mechanically inclined
Office Equipment and/or software knowledge:
Solid works software (CAD software)
Proficient with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel and Word
SAP B1, or similar ERP system
Physical/Mental Requirements:

Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures:
This is an in-office position.
Position will require associate to travel within the Permian basin and Panhandle of Texas.
Travel is to be expected anywhere from 60%-100% of the time.
Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office or other human factors friendly environment.
Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment.
No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.
Salary $95,000 + bonus structure and car allowance
