POSITIONS PRIMARY FUNCTION:
U-Haul Self-Storage Department is looking for skilled Technical Illustrator Intern to join our team to assist staff Technical Illustrators to execute projects from concept to completion
The successful candidate is desired to participate with all facets of the illustration/design process from initial concepts through effective marketing documents development and experience in multi-team fast-paced enterprise environment
We a looking for a person that can wear many hats, work independently, efficiently, communicate effectively, and has a strong attention to detail. Graphic design and marketing or advertising experience preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Create marketing materials for corporate and field teams such as: business plan, self-storage layouts, facility maps, navigational facility directories, rate menu boards, and other signage needs
Interpret construction layout, security plan and diagrams provided to make updates to the current marketing documentation
Effectively inquire and correspond to all related U-Haul teams with construction development and facility related changes to related documentation concisely and accurately
Create illustrations derived from security layouts provided for all new development and acquisition projects
Participate in management of variety of tasks within a tight time schedule
OTHER DUTIES PERFORMED OCCASIONALLY OR INFREQUENTLY:
Perform special projects assigned by division VP and other U-Haul senior management and fellow Technical IllustratorsEDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Attending/completed Associate or Bachelor's degree in illustration/design or related field required
Relevant illustration experience may substitute formal education; knowledge of software illustration programs required
Working knowledge of file formats/fonts and their functions, file export requirements and developing illustrations and designs.
Portfolio that demonstrates previous illustrations and designs showcasing technical skillset if available
Successful demonstration of required skillset may be required as part of interview process
EXPERIENCE:
Any fundamental illustration /design experience is preferredSKILLS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/TOOLS:
Illustrated efficiency at (required):
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Proficiency with Adobe CS Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Professional Knowledge (desired):
