Why this job matters
The delivery lead for agile tribes coordinates across squads and any ecosystem of dependent platforms, in the planning and execution of the squad roadmaps, setting the standards and making a step change in the value, flow, quality, pace and predictability of our end-to-end delivery across all Business Products, customer segments and colleague journeys and capability deliveries, agnostic of stack and aligned to customer and product outcomes for each portfolio.
Assure end to end delivery planning and execution through an optimized agile delivery mechanism to ensure Business achieve desired goals and outcomes across a group of squads.
Manage business readiness across all functions for roll-out and launch of new capabilities and journey enhancements and extensions. Always starting with the customer and creating plans that support and optimize customer and colleague outcomes.
Orchestrate planning events and facilitate tribe level rituals. Manage and track delivery progress reporting and dashboard/cross tribes.
What you’ll be doing
• Ensure understanding of stakeholder goals and expectations, addresses misalignments, monitors programmes to meet/exceed expectations and communicates with concerned stakeholder groups
• Collaboration with tribe stakeholders to prioritize squad roadmaps for delivery in Tribe
• You will co-ordinate with multiple teams and senior stakeholders, across other dependent tribes to deliver the roadmap
• Orchestrate planning events and facilitate tribe level rituals
• Identify and manage dependencies and risks across multiple squad deliveries.
• Manage and track delivery progress reporting and dashboard/cross tribes
• Drives, along with other delivery leads, the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve delivery processes
• Roadmap comms and reporting incl KPI reporting
• Supporting front door process - assessment of demand vs tribe capacity
• Supporting tribe level CapEx/OpEx tracking and prioritization decisions
• Represent programme/tribe at quarterly business reviews
• Workforce planning/skills planning: involved with the future skills requirement and hiring needs based on squad/tribe requirements
The skills you’ll need to succeed
• Communication: Very strong communicator capable of making an impact, to ensure investment meets current and emerging business and technical needs.
• Lead a multi disciplined team and a further matrixed team, with the right interpersonal skills to support, guide and coach and collaborate across common goals.
• Proven change-agent and demonstrate experience in driving transformations, fostering collaboration, formulating strategy and resolving performance issues is an advantage
• Technical Knowledge: Domain-specific knowledge of customer, contact and portfolio products and technologies pan-BT
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
• Transformation: Able to manage long term changes and adapting the unit in line with the business. be confident in managing major strategic changes
• Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively solve business problems that deal with uncertainty e.g. investment planning including location, skill and resource. Also, some problems will be multi-platform wide, impacting multiple services or cross-portfolio solutions.
