Bio-Rad is looking for an enthusiastic Electro/Mechanical Technician tosupport its global organization. You will be part of the innovative MechanicalEngineering Team developing complex solutions for the Next Generation ddPCRinstrument systems. We need a proven technical troubleshooter who gets excitedabout pushing the boundaries of medical diagnostics, is highly analytical,and sees the big picture needed to evolve a concept into an instrument.You will work with engineers, chemists, and molecular biologists todevelop integrated chemical and fluidic systems (including droplet-baseddigital PCR). This work will span from the research stage through productlauncDuties:Support engineering development activities including but not limited todesign, fabrication, assembly, modification, and test of complexelectro-mechanical medical instruments, assemblies, and components.Build and test R&D prototypes during the engineering development lifecycle.Support transfer of development instruments to manufacturing.Support test and fixture development for laboratory testing.Support Reliability, Verification and Validation Testing.Generate test reports, assembly procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and/or systemlevel troubleshooting, leading to the identification of root cause andcorrective action of instrument failures.Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools, precision measurement equipment,soldering, crimping, electrical test equipment, and/or machine tools -machine shop experience a plus.Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.Knowledge of CAD package(s) is desirable (not required).Knowledge of Optical systems, alignment and measurement tools highlypreferred.Strong PCBA rework and debugging at the component level (small packages).Strong attention to detail when executing reworks, test protocols, orassemblies.Multi-tasking skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.How You'll Make an Impact:Team player and essential project contributor.Take ownership and responsibilities of assigned workstreams.Be able to drive and navigate through complex tasks with minimalsupervision, always putting quality first with high attention to detail.Maintain a high level of communication among the group.Technical troubleshooter who gets excited about pushing the boundaries ofmedical diagnostics, is highly analytical, and sees the big picture neededto evolve a concept into an instrument.What You Bring:Education: Associate's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanicalor Electrical Engineering preferred).Work Experience: Optics, Electronics, Electrical-Mechanical andelectronics assembly, PCBA rework, Machining, Harness BuildWorked in a fast paced environmentOptical systems, alignment, calibration, test protocols.Be able to create and document procedures, protocols, documentation ingeneral.Total Rewards Package: At Bio-Rad, we're empowered by our purpose andrecognize that our employees are as well. Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is$53,200 to $73,200 at the time of posting. Actual compensation willbe provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is basedon several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation,including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills,abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for avariable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of yourindividual objectives and Company performance
