Title: Team Lead - BioinformaticsDescription: Plan and delegate work focused on conducting and conveying bioinformatics results for customer projects for Azenta’s Next Generation Sequencing Applications (NGS). Specific duties include:•Collaborate with bench scientists conducting research in laboratories to develop and evaluate project objectives and bioinformatics solutions, including researching relevant scientific papers and incorporating knowledge to determine analysis procedures and applying to customer based projects;•Develop and implement bioinformatics analyses, applications and workflows to expand Azenta’s genomics and bioinformatics capabilities, including building road maps for analysis workflows including steps taken and potential tools to use;•Integrate statistical analysis to project designs and data interpretations; •Work closely with IT Specialists to build robust bioinformatics infrastructure;•Support Azenta’s bioinformatics intellectual property management;•Support development and delivery of novel pipelines and automation of NGS data analysis, including identifying pipelines needed to resolve issues routinely addressed by customers, and automating new or existing pipelines to minimize manual processing required during analysis;•Provide customer support for NGS data analysis results, including pre-sales support, delivering analysis results to customers, and performing post-delivery troubleshooting;•Support Sales and Marketing departments with bioinformatics related business development efforts;•Lead a team of bioinformatics scientists; and•Delegate tasks and conduct performance reviews for Associates and Bioinformatics Scientists.May commute within commutable distance to worksite location.Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, or related field plus 2 years of experience performing bioinformatics and NGS data analysis. Experience, which can be gained concurrently, must include:•2 years experience utilizing bioinformatics skills in analysis of data from various omic platforms;•2 years experience applying statistical approaches to NGS data interpretation;•2 years experience conducting raw data delivery and analyses using RNA-Seq analysis, WGS and WES analysis;•2 years experience utilizing two or more of the following programming languages: Python, Perl, Bash scripting;•2 years experience interfacing with customers to support NGS data analyses, troubleshoot NGS-related data queries, and communicate analytical results.Job Site: 115 Corporate Boulevard, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
