Develop a comprehensive instructional guide for all students based on their strengths and weaknesses• Develop and implement academic programs in the area of reading, writing and social learning for theappropriate students• Develop and implement programs in daily living, sensory stimulation and functional skills forappropriate students• Plan and implement weekly gross motor activities within the classroom• Provide students with a combination of group, small group and individual instruction throughout the day• Work as a part of an interdisciplinary team with Therapists in providing appropriate communication,position and handling techniques according to students Individualized Educational Plan• To carry out any other professional responsibilities deemed appropriate by the Principal, Vice Principal,Executive Director or his designee• Recording behavioral and cognitive progress for reports, IEPs and changes in academic program• Write and implement daily lesson plans• Maintain a substitute file of daily activities and worksheets appropriate for the students• Keep abreast of new materials and appropriate research literature. Attend in-service, training,conferences and staff meetings as required by supervisor• Select and order appropriate materials for classroom use• Instruct the classroom Aides in appropriate teaching, behavior, and organizational techniques as needed• Plan parent conferences as needed• Maintain a professional attitude with parents, staff and students• Promote a positive educational, social and emotional environment for all students
