  Position Title: Certified Teacher

  Department/Location: Building Assigned

  GENERAL

  To create an educational program and a class environment favorable tolearning and personal growth.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.

  Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s).

  Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software; including the useof Excel spreadsheets and district email.

  Ability to organize and coordinate district wide program.

  Ability to interpret data.

  Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

  Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentialityat all times.

  Must support district goals and objectives.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  Teaches assigned curriculum as adopted by USD 262.

  Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and providesindividualized, differentiated and small group instruction in

  order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.

  Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

  Evaluates students academic and social growth, keeps appropriaterecords, and prepares progress reports.

  Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discussstudents progress and interpret the school

  program.

  Employs a variety of instructional techniques, technology andinstructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of

  the location provided and the needs a capabilities of the individuals orstudent groups involved.

  Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractivedisplays, bulletin boards and interest centers.

  Maintains professional competence through in-service educationalactivities provided by the district and self-selected

  professional growth activities; participates in curriculum developmentprograms as required.

  Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assignedwork day.

  Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district testingprogram.

  Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of pupilactivities.

  Builds a positive rapport with students, parents and other staffmembers.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Regular attendance is required.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities

  required by this position include close vision and distance vision.Occasionally, yet essential to this position, the individual must meet

  deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public andother workers. Occasionally, the position requires the

  employee to work irregular or extended hours; direct responsibility forthe safety; well-being or work output of other people; and

  meet multiple demands from several people.
