　　Required Education / Certifications

　　Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

　　Primary Responsibilities & Scope

　　Under immediate supervision, responsible for preparation of fuel, sales and transportation returns and related schedules, preparation of related analysis and reconciliation of items from book to tax. Maintains tax records and tax returns, related schedules, and related reports. Prepares paperwork for local, state, and federal level returns.

　　Required Experience

　　Prepares fuel, sales and transportation tax returns and related schedules

　　Reconciles general ledger accounts

　　Prepares month end journal entries

　　Researches tax rate changes and tax law

　　Researches and resolves state tax assessments by communicating with taxing authorities

　　Prepares fuel/sales tax return amendments and refund requests

　　Meets monthly federal/state deadlines for tax returns

　　Analyzes/recommends process improvement for return procedures
