Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of professionals executing complex system integration efforts for the Navy and United States Marines Corps in Charleston, SC.
This work primarily entails system architecture management and oversight of advanced solutions for unusually complex technical problems. These architecture solutions may include pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-mechanical devices, mechanical systems, electrical systems and other technical functional areas. A subset of the developed solutions will be comprised of electro-mechanical systems validated in a systems integration laboratory (SIL) and on operational systems that will required embedded system design awareness.
Job Duties:
Performs Systems Engineering activities related to complex Naval Training Simulation architectures including: requirements definition/decomposition and allocation, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system performance analysis, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA).
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.
Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Domain expertise will span pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, software/controls, and electro-mechanical functional areas.
Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. System designs will require emulation of shipboard systems through integration of special effects.
Guides the successful completion of major programs. Represents organization as technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience.
Experience developing and managing multi- level requirements.
Experience with requirement verification.
Must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Familiarity or direct experience with DOORS Next Gen or similar requirements management tool.
Familiarity or direct experience with MagicDraw SysML.
Ability to create interface control documentation, block diagrams, flow diagrams, etc.
Experience with the IBM Jazz/ ELM Suite preferred.
