The Hobart Weigh/Wrap division, part of the ITW Food Equipment Group, is seeking a highly motivated System Test Engineer to join our team in Troy, Ohio.
As a member of the System Test team, you will be responsible for the execution and creation of test plans for software and hardware changes and new product development projects. The selected candidate will also investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and execute and create test plans to validate problem resolution. Hands-on testing and implementation of product, process, and test method improvements are key functions for this position. The selected candidate will also work with manufacturing, service, and the customer to help deliver a quality product.
What you will do
Create and execute test plans against requirements and specifications
evaluation, life test, software testing
Install and support field tests
Participate and lead FMEA projects
Evaluate warranty returns and data
Support manufacturing
pilot builds, equipment audits, process audits
Interface with and support service, marketing, and customers
Help troubleshoot issues in field
Share product knowledge with team to help make a quality product and great customer experience
What we are looking for:
BS or an Associate degree in Engineering
2 or more years of testing experience
Excellent skills in defining and executing test plans for hardware and software products.
Good problem-solving skills; must be proficient in determining root cause for complex hardware and software issues.
Proficient in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
Ability to analyze data for trends.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; must effectively deliver required reports/presentations to other team members.
Excellent time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent skills in using hand and power tools

Experience with wired and wireless networking
You will work in a team-oriented office and laboratory environment.
Some travel may be required (up to 20%)
PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection in manufacturing setting.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
