About System Engineer, Blink

  Description

  The successful System Engineer will be assisting the Network Lead in support of BlinkNet and Development infrastructure including internally developed solutions. Impacting our internal customers, this job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success.

  In this role you will be developing infrastructure-level solutions in support of Blink product development and testing efforts, troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing infrastructure and solution issues, supporting monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing fixes for your internally developed tools and solutions, and updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges. Responsibilities also include working alongside development and QA testing teams, automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.

  UNIX System administration

  Identifying/auditing Security Best Practices

  Procedural documentation

  Install, configure, debug automation solutions to be used internally

  Assist in the implementation of process improvements

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  North Reading, MA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of experience with Linux systems administration, but a working knowledge of Windows Systems will be useful

  Experience with supporting or engineering Cisco/Juniper networks

  Experience with physical infrastructure installations including hardware integration, racking, and cabling

  Design, build and own major parts of the hardware test infrastructure (configuration and data management systems, cloud and desktop services and applications, web UIs, analytics tools and more)

  Ability to engineer solutions and provide support in a heterogeneous UNIX/Linux/Windows environment

  Clear, professional technical writing and communication skills

  Some travel and off-hours work is required

  Preferred Qualifications

  Experience deploying services to Amazon's Cloud (Amazon Web Services)

  Flexibility, ability to think on your feet, and strong problem solving skills

  Experience administering or supporting Aruba wireless network equipment

  Demonstrated track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment

  Hands on experience with HyperV, switching, routing, and troubleshooting of enterprise scale network components
