This role is for a System Architecture Lead who will chart the course for Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) capabilities within a capture or program execution effort. This individual will support system engineering in establishing and managing the technical baseline within an MBSE tools suite.
Primary responsibilities involve leading the architecture team in establishing the modeling baseline for the program, which includes defining architectural frameworks, structures, and integration with external models. Candidate will support the definition and documentation of the technical designs, requirements, interfaces, and mission/operational concept baselines all within the MBSE tools suite and will establish governance to maintain and configuration control the model content. This role will also require the individual to refine and mature the system architecture to the level necessary to communicate requirements and capabilities during engagement with the customer and internal stakeholders. Additional scope includes leading/supporting system engineering activities in the model such as system architecture development, requirements analysis, interface definition, design, requirements verification and validation, modeling & simulation, as well as support to integration and test activities.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 7+ years of engineering experience OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 4+ years of engineering experience Active DoD Top Secret/SSBI and/or active SCI SSBI investigation within the last 5 years Understanding and experience with Model Based Systems EngineeringExperience in System Engineering activities such as operational concept development, architecture definition, requirements development and management, verification and validationExperience with interface management between system elements and teamsExperience leading engineering teamsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architect and SysML modeling (or equivalent)Systems Engineering experience with large, complex systemsExperience and understanding of the complete program lifecycleExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsAbility and skills to work multi-disciplined engineering problems and foster collaboration across functional boundariesParticipation in proposal effortsSalary Range: $129,700 - $194,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
