  Please note this is a Limited Duration (LD) position with guaranteed funding for two (2) years. LD positions are one year appointments with the potential to extend for a second year based on business needs and funding. We are seeking permanent funding. If funding is secured, this position will be ongoing.

  Position Duration

  Limited Duration positions are benefit-eligible and are treated as regular positions in every respect other than the fact that they are scheduled to end at a predetermined time. Also, if the position ends prior to the two-year mark, the incumbent will not have lay off rights under the SEIU Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  Department Summary

  Business Affairs (BA) provides efficient and effective business services for University of Oregon (UO) students, faculty, and staff; manages and secures UO material assets; and ensures UO business is conducted in accordance with all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and sound business practices.

  Business Affairs consists of 5 divisions reporting to the Associate Vice President for Business Affairs and Controller and provides direct services to staff, students, and UO departments: Financial Services/Accounts Payable/Travel, Student Financial Services, Payroll, Information Systems, and Treasury Management. These divisions manage one of the largest payrolls in Eugene, support UO expenditures totaling more than $500 million annually, and manage the billing and collection of tuition and fees for more than 24,000 students. Business Affairs has approximately 64 FTEs and an annual operating budget of $6.4 million.

  This position is part of the Payroll division.

  Position Summary

  The System Analyst is a vital member of our Payroll team. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient operation of critical enterprise business systems, with a specific focus on UKG Ready Timekeeping and Leave Management (TLM), and Ellucian Banner Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining UKG Ready configurations and will collaborate with Information Services colleagues to enhance integrations between UKG Ready and Banner HRIS.

  The System Analyst will develop and maintain online training videos, step-by-step procedures, and user documentation, and support the daily use of UKG Ready and Banner HRIS by university employees, managers, and payroll administrators.

  The System Analyst will co-chair the UKG Service Advisory Board and collaborate with key service users/stakeholders to make service management decisions. They will serve as a company administrator in UKG Ready, responsible for problem escalation and resolution by the vendor. They will conduct regular system maintenance tasks, and conduct upgrade testing to ensure the overall health and reliability of the system.

  Collaboration is key in this System Analyst role, as the incumbent will work closely with Payroll, Business Affairs Information Systems, and other campus colleagues on various projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, adept at navigating complex systems, and committed to ensuring the continuous improvement of critical enterprise business systems.

  This position is based in Eugene and primarily works an 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday schedule, with some level of flexibility including the option for remote work up to two days per week. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval.

  Minimum Requirements

  This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems generally obtained through an AA degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience.

  Professional Competencies

  • Subject matter expertise in a discipline or body of knowledge.

  • Knowledge of system utilities, features, maintenance procedures, and general operation.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills in working with users to interpret needs and provide appropriate support.

  • Knowledge of information technology systems, including enterprise systems, configurations, data structures, integrations, and reporting.

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system integration errors.

  • Knowledge of training theory and practices demonstrated by an ability to develop and deliver technical training and user documentation.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering/supporting UKG Ready TLM.

  • Experience using/supporting Banner HRIS or similar enterprise payroll systems.

  • Experience designing training materials and conducting training sessions.

  • Experience consulting with end users, reconciling competing demands, and achieving consensus.

  • Experience creating and maintaining end-user documentation.
