Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Duties* Champions "The Layton Way" by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.* Ensures that "Constructing with Integrity" is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.* Familiar with Civil 3d.* Running Robotic total station, Engineers Level, GPS.* Provide grids, lines, control points and elevation.* Layout and survey all building lines and elevations during construction.* Ensure building structure quality control as assigned.* Layout and coordinate site work.* Interpret blueprints, building codes and other design requirements.* Use and maintain survey layout and survey equipment to ensure equipment remains in good working condition.* Maintain a clean and safe jobsite.* Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions if clarification is needed.* Understand and follow lock out/tag out procedures.* Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.* Have tools required of a surveyor supervisory position.Qualifications* High school education or equivalent and at least four years of construction experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Architectural plans, Structural plans, RFI, ACI, shop drawings, Specification, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees of organization.* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, percentages, area, slope, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDSRequires heavy physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily productive/technical nature. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push, pull, grip with force, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds may be required less frequently to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Vision requirements include good depth perception, field of vision, and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
