Summary About the Position: This is a Support Services Specialist, GS-0342-06/07 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Southwestern Division for the following location: Whitefield, Oklahoma. This position may be filled at the GS-06, or GS-07 grade level. The full performance level of this position is GS-07. Promotion is at the discretion of management. Responsibilities Research files, management plans or other documentation to gather data and project needs. Monitor obligations and expenditures throughout the execution phase of the operating budgets. Coordinate the administrative work of other clerical personnel that may be geographically disbursed, and provides guidance, direction and leadership to ensure all project administrative priorities are met. Review each cost item to include labor, training, travel, equipment, and pay estimates for contractors, supplies, and visa purchase to determine proper sequence required for the action. Specialized Experience for the GS-06: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) managing fund or expenditure requests in an automated system; AND 2) purchasing supplies or services for an organization; AND 3) composing administrative correspondence or reports for an office staff. Specialized Experience for the GS-07: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing at least 2 out of 3 the following duties: 1) tracking budget allocations or expenditures for an organizational budget and 2) managing organizational staff timekeeping in an automated system and 3) tracking contracted services for completion prior to payment. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.
