Supply Room Clerk - 1st Shift

Position Overview:

The role of Supply Room Clerk is vital in executing a Strategic Inventory Model. The role will manage the spare parts inventory, analyzing inventory trends and maintaining the appropriate stock levels to ensure the plant runs efficiently while not negatively impacting carrying costs by maintaini ng excessive inventory or obsolete inventory.

General Administration

Issue supplies as requested and accurately fill out issue sheet with item number, description, department, date, and work order number . Enter all issues into the PeopleSoft inventory system using the correct account and department codes , at minimum , daily.

Ensure that the appropriate personnel are using Sharp when applicable. Issue parts and contact Planner if any errors occur.

Escort associates while they are in the supply room to help them find the correct parts and monitor associate access. Unauthorized associates will not have access to the supply room without an escort. This ensures inventory integrity is maintained and adds in an efficient cycle count.

Open all incoming shipments and verify that the items received match the packing slip. Correct any discrepancies and/or contact the supplier or your Sourcing Specialist for assistance and complete a n RTV (Return to Vendor) . In accordance with the outl ined procedures, receive incoming shipments into the PeopleSoft Inventory System, including both inventory items and direct charge items. Put up items in the proper bin location or the direct charge location, at least daily.

Maintain a Direct Charge Log , listing items received and to whom they belong. Notify personnel when an item is received to their attention. Have personnel sign out items when they pick them up.

Cycle count the entire supply room twice per year , entering counts into PeopleSoft, running reports and reconciling . Strong mathematical skills will aid in an accurate cycle count.

Assist Shaw associates with finding parts in PeopleSoft inventory and catalogs to ensure the correct parts are ordered and/or issued.

Ensure spare parts are maintained in an operational performance condition.

Ensure items sent to external shops for repair are documented, tracked, and communicated to those affected.

The Supply Room Clerk will possess strong analytical and computer skills and will allow them to maintain the strategic vision of the supply room.

Comply with Corporate Records Management in relation to supply room documents.

Must be highly organized, a team player, and willing to learn.

Position Requirements :

High School Diploma

Basic Math Skills

Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, etc )

Ability to multitask and prioritize daily activities

Ability to communicate with all levels of associates

Strategic Requirements:

Ability to manage critical spares as defined by their management

Ability to identify urgent parts needs (causing machine downtime or stock out items). Take action to ensure restock including contacting other Shaw plants and /or vendors to get parts expedited and delivery date verified. Once the situation has been res olved, supply room clerk needs to analyze the data/inventory trends, to determine how a stock out can be avoided in the future. Also, linking existing parts. Once approved to supply, creating bin location and adequately labeling.

Create orders through PeopleSoft Epro

Make deliveries to front office as needed

Manage and create IDs for the Grainger vending

Utilize the MRM system to create BOL’s for trash and metal as needed

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 – 12 hours

Ability to bend, stoop, and squat while lifting or carrying parts or boxes of parts

Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs frequently

Ability to pull cleaning orders and deliver to designated areas

Ability to deliver supplies to office areas

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
