About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials and services at World Class levels and at low to no risk to Cosma Body Assembly Michigan (CBAM). The Supplier Quality Engineer works with all critical and necessary departments in the development and maintenance of new and existing suppliers and assists in the resolution of supplier related issues. This includes all supplier quality related aspects of Production Part Approval Process, Prototype, Production, Continuous Improvements, Corrective Actions, Assessments and Engineering Changes.
Who we are looking for
Looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills that is assertive and has the drive to support the Quality team with all things supplier related.
Your Responsibilities
Assist with new supplier selection and management of current suppliers.
Perform supplier launch readiness assessments and drive action plans through the APQP process.
Visit and audit suppliers, issue and follow up on Corrective Action Requests.
Manage PPAP and R&R (Run at Rates) and perform statistical studies and reports
Work with Engineering Department regarding engineering changes..
Your preferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or Certificate in Quality Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years in automotive manufacturing environment or similar quality engineering experience.
Stamping experience with a tooling background preferred.
Prior experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP),Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing (GD&T), FMEA's, Control Plans, GR&R and check fixture development.
Experience with GM standards and portals preferred.
