PositionOverview The General Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory directs theday-to-day laboratory operations, under the direction of the Director ofLaboratory Operations (or designee); including, but not limited to, thegeneral supervision and development of laboratory staff, assuringquality standards are met, providing technical expertise to thelaboratory, and serving as the liaison to various internal and externalentities, as needed. The General Supervisor, Clinical Laboratoryoversees the quality management program in the laboratory and ensuresthat the laboratory and laboratory staff follow all laws and regulationsthat are required by CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and any other applicablelegislative organizations. This role meets the CAP requirements forGeneral Supervisor. Shifts Available: Tuesday - Friday, 8:00pm -6:30am - 145 E. Badger Road Saturday - Monday, 6:00pm - 6:30am &required attendance at administrative meeting every other Tuesdayevening - 650 Forward Drive Essential Duties Include, but are notlimited to, the following: Identify and understand regulatoryrequirements to ensure the laboratory is compliant with all applicablelaws and regulations pertinent to the management of the laboratory,including applicable CLIA, CAP and other requirements and regulations.In conjunction with support staff, maintain a process for staffing,recruiting, training, evaluation of competency, and ongoing educationaldevelopment. Provide supervision to the laboratory and is accessible tothe laboratory personnel to provide on-site consultation. Evaluateequipment and supply needs of the laboratory. Work with laboratoryleadership to ensure expenses are within the departmental budget. Assureproper ordering of supplies and equipment. Monitor supply usage andvariances. Review test volumes with the laboratory leadership to ensureappropriate staffing to maintain established turn-around-times.
