Position Overview
EDI Support Specialists are responsible for providing EDI technical support to our clients via telephone and/or remotely via the web/support portal. EDI Support Specialists are responsible for efficiently and accurately resolving support cases related to clearinghouse and payer issues for eClinicalWorks customers using our Practice Management software. An EDI Support Specialist must have in-depth working knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI transactions, medical billing workflows, and have experience working in a help desk/technical support environment.
Responsibilities
Respond to incoming support cases related to clearinghouse or payer EDI issues via telephone or the web
Meet SLAs (response and resolution)
Resolve and close all EDI support issues with customer approval
Maintain excellent customer satisfaction level
Work with other support teams as required
Research EDI errors, claim rejections and denials
Work directly with partner clearinghouses on support issues when appropriate
Validate client implementation details against clearinghouse enrollment records and NPPES
Work on additional tasks and project as required
Requirements
3+ years of knowledge of:
Practice Management (PM/PMS) software or medical billing support experience
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial paper, and electronic claims processing is a must
ANSI X12 EDI formats such as 835, 837P/837I/837D, 270/271, 276/277, 277CA/277U is a must
Preferred Requirements
Knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPC coding, ability to read EOBs, post payments, refunds is a plus
Experience in eligibility verification, ERA, familiarity with HIPAA rules is a plus
Familiar with Health Center, ASC and other UB billing is a plus
