Job Summary:
• Supervises the behavioral health program.
Responsibilities:
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels.
• Trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff on performance expectations. Applies progressive
discipline when appropriate. Participates in hiring and termination procedures.
• Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the achievement of desired
outcomes.
• Participates in direct delivery of care depending on patient census. Completes patient evaluations and
treatments as needed.
• Directs Oversees, coordinates, and controls the admission, customer service representatives, and case
management departments in accordance with the established policies and procedures and in compliance with
federal, state, and local regulations; regulatory agencies; and third-party payers.
Complexity of Work:
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal
supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Minimum Qualifications/Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Required Credential(s):
• One or more of the following:
• Social Worker credentialed from the New York Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date.
• Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the New York Board of Social Work
obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Clinical Counselor obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Counselor specializing in Alcohol and Drug Abuse credentialed from the New York State Office of
Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Psychologist credentialed from the New York Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date.
Education:
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
